Pulp’s More, their first album in 24 years, is a sharp, vibrant return that balances their signature wit with mature reflections on aging and love.
Dedicated to late bassist Steve Mackey, the 11-track record, produced by James Ford, blends baroque pop and disco with Cocker’s incisive lyrics. Standouts like “Grown Ups,” a surreal Britpop gem, and the tender “Farmers Market” shine, while “My Sex” delivers sleazy funk. “Hymn of the North” and “A Sunset” add emotional depth, though the second half drags slightly.
Less raw than Different Class, More evolves Pulp’s sound without chasing past glories. Critics and fans praise its heart, calling it a “masterclass comeback.” 8.5/10
Highlights: “Spike Island” “Farmers Market,” “My Sex” "Background Noise"
