Vinyl of the Week

The Soundwaves Vinyl Of The Week (V.O.T.W.) is the most recent album by Mark Knopfler titled, One Deep River.

 

I found this album to be less Dire Straits and more mellow and introspective. It blends blues, folk, and rock with Knopfler’s signature weathered storytelling quality vocals and melodic guitar tones.

 

The title of the album is a nod to the River Tyne near his hometown of Newcastle, UK where he spent his youth.
