The Soundwaves Vinyl of the Week is the 10th Anniversary remastered edition of the album It’s About Time by Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics.

 

Canadian born Ruby Velle, now based in Atlanta, GA, released her debut album back in 2012 and out sprang this beautiful vintage soul sound—think along the lines of early Stax and Motown records. Signature horns and a tight rhythm section coupled with Ruby’s vocals creates and delivers a nostalgic yet fresh take that channels classic R&B.
