Sade
Love Deluxe

The Soundwaves Vinyl of the Week is Love Deluxe by Sade.
This, in my opinion, is her crowning jewel. Released in October of 1992, Sade Adu with her unique, sultry voice blends smooth jazz, R&B and soul into cohesive songs with emotional depth that analyze and reflect upon all forms of the theme of love.
In our current age where artists are including an average of 12-19 tracks on their albums, Love Deluxe, with only nine tracks, feels complete. Sade proves that less is more—each song holding its own. There is no need for filler.
This album’s strength is a balance of romanticism coupled with social commentary. If it wasn’t for my wife who owned this CD when we met in 1993, I may never have even stumbled upon it.
Key tracks include:
"No Ordinary Love"
"Cherish the Day"
