Sublime

The Soundwaves Vinyl Of The Week is the self-titled album by the band Sublime

Released in 1996 a few months after the untimely passing of their lead singer Bradley Nowell, this ska, punk, reggae-infused album went on to sell millions of copies and become one of the definitive albums of the 1990s.

It had a number of songs with considerable radio airplay, including the tracks, “Garden Grove”, “What I Got”, “Wrong Way”, “Santeria”, “Pawn Shop”, and “Doin’ Time”. Even though they released two albums prior to this, it was this album that truly broke them into the mainstream.

With Bradley’s son Jakob now taking the reins on vocals, the band is releasing new music that sounds so close to the original you almost can’t tell the difference. It has invigorated a whole new generation of listeners. We wish them all the best in the future.
